Your ONE BLOG topic this week is FREE CHOICE! You could blog about whatever it is you want, except what you've already blogged about! You could go on a rant or you could simply blog about something important to you. Please do not blog about blogs!
I highly recommend that you go OUTSIDE the BOX! Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents.
Today I am going to talk about travelling. I love to travel! My favorite place to travel is Europe. I have gone to Greece, Italy, Germany, France, and Switzerland. My favorite place in the whole entire world is Santorini, Greece! It is amazing and it is very hot there. DeleteToday, I am going to write about Miss Giuliana Giannini, what a powerful name, her name describes her so well. It makes her sound nice, and friendly and someone who you would always count on for help, but she's more than THAT! She is my world, my bae, and my life<3 I remember the first time we met, she was so sassy to me and i thought we were going to be enemies, but all of that led to where we are now. Her nickname is Gulana, and whenever i call her that she knows that i'm calling her name. I'm so happy that i can have her in my life, I LOVEE UU GULANAA!
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog sienna!!! Love the topic!!!!

That's so sweet to blog about you best friend!
DeleteFor my blog, I've decided to talk about my passion, ringuette. For those of you who didn't now, ringuette is a sport played by girls which includes a rink, a ring, 6 players(including the goalie) and a stick. Some of the rules are: you must pass before crossing the blue line, you can't go in the goalie's crease and no physical contact. I have been playing this amazing sport for 6 years and I love it more and more every year. I love going to far away tournaments with my team and playing games. My team has really improved since the beginning of the season, and we've gotten better and better every game. Ringuette is a very important thing in my life and it makes me extremely happy.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds fun ringuette. It must be a great sport. Great Blog:)
DeleteFruit salad! I absolutely LOVE fruit salads! They are naturally sweet and so very delicious at the same time! Sometimes, maybe they can be a bit sour if the fruit is bitter BUT they are still one of the best meals (or desserts) EVER! On the weekend, my aunt told me a story about fruit salads. Basically, there’s this lady that everyone loves. She also makes the best fruit salad. When they were going to have a barbecue, they invited her over and she brought her fruit salad. Of course, everyone loved it. The end. The reason why everyone loved it was because there was orange juice in it! That’s so cool right? Now, after hearing the story, I wanted to try my fruit salad with orange juice too. Yay. But I haven’t tried it yet, so hopefully today I can! Did you know that fruit salads are also called fruit cocktails? All I have to say though is that fruit salads are just really really really YUMMY!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was reading your blog, I was actually craving a fruit salad!! That just proves how amazing of a writer you are. I, too love fruit salads, they're a delicious and healthy snack!Amazing blog:))
DeleteI love fruit salad too! I like pretty much anything that involves fruits. You blog was really interesting, I think I might try the orange juice thing too! Thanks for the advice :)
DeleteAWWWWWWW, I want fruit salad now! What a random topic! It's such a change from having Ulysses questions to talking about fruit salad!
DeleteI love fruit salad also. It is so delicious. Good blog!
Delete-Erin
I have barely ever tried fruit salad, however now, I feel like I should be eating fruit salad like every two days.It seems like you have great knowledge about fruit salads. Good idea to blog about this topic.
DeleteFor this blog I wanted to write about my favorite show of all time, The Originals. This show has all sorts of supernatural beings like vampires, werewolves, witches, hybrids (which is a vampire and a werewolf), hunters (who hunt vampires) and many more. This show is about the oldest vampires in the world, the Originals. The show takes place in the French Quarter of Louisiana. The Originals fled the city of New Orleans in the 18 hundreds because their father wanted to kill them. Back in the day Klaus (Joseph Morgan) was the king of the city. Now they are back and Klaus wants to reclaim his city. It’s my favorite show because the storyline is so intriguing. The Originals is a spin off show of the series The Vampire Diaries. Some of the people on the show are Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Danielle Campbell and Charles Michael Davis.
ReplyDeleteSince I just had a hockey tournament this weekend, I'm going to talk about that. This tournament was different. It was 2 weeks long. This tournament was a bit of a challenge for our team. We played some good teams. After the round robin ended, our was 2 wins and 1 lose. Since we had a pretty good record we made it to the quarter finals. In the quarters we won the 1-0 in a shoutout. Obviously we moved on to the semis and in the semis we won the game 2-0. So then later that day we played in the finals. We were all really excited and pumped. Unfortunately, we lost 3-1 and were super disappointed. When I got home that night I was so tired, so I just took a shower and went to bed.
ReplyDeleteI wrote about the same thing before reading yours! Good job Josh!

For this blog I wanted to talk about something I love and that’s SWEEEEEETS! I love eating sweets I would eat them any time of the day breakfast, lunch, supper you name it! They are so delicious I can’t stop obsessing over them. I have a huge sweet tooth so I've gotten many cavities, but that doesn’t stop me from eating more. It’s just everything about them that I love so much! Especially how they have many choices like cupcakes, brownies, donuts, ice cream and many more! When I get older I’m probably going to be really unhealthy, but for now I know I just can’t resist the wonderful sugary flavors!
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad that I’m not the only one that has cavities! I totally agree too! So many varieties of sugar to choose from, it’s really hard to pick one for a favourite! I really enjoyed the topic you chose! It was extra duper AWESOME though, for the fact that you always add this special touch to each and every one of your blogs! Your blog is flawless!
DeleteI absolutely love anything that has sugar on it! Glad i'm not the only sweet tooth. Great blog
DeleteFor this blog I'm going to talk about my hockey tournament from last weekend. We started off the tournament by losing 5-3 and are coach was really mad to say the least. Then we made a huge recovery by winning 9-1 and I scored the first goal of that game. To continue the tournament we had to win this game and we won big 8-0. So we made it through the preliminary round and we played a great game to win 1-0 in a shootout. To make it to the finals we had to play in the morning and we won 2-0. Then the finals was the same day as the semi-finals that we had won earlier. Unfortunately we lost 3-1 because we were tired. Even if we did lose we still got a plaque, a banner and a trophie. Lakeshore said they would put our banner in the Beconsfield arena. Overall, after that crazy tournament I'm satisfied with a second place finish out of twenty teams.
ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I thought I would share some information about my guinea pigs. My two teddy bear guinea pigs are named Misty and Hazel. I bought them on December 31st (New Years Eve). Misty is grey and Hazel is brown. On December 31st, I went grocery shopping with my mom and asked if we could go to the pet store. The only thing was, I didn't have any money with me. So, we went to the pet store and we were looking at the guinea pigs. I needed a specific breed because of my brother's allergies. We found two little piggies in a cage and they were both females. It was love at first sight! Originally, we were gonna pick them up on January 2nd, but when we got home my mom asked me if I REALLY wanted them. And I said yes! So we went back and took them home! It has been three weeks and I am sooooooooooo happy to have them in my life! They are my psycho little bundles of happiness!!!

I had no idea what I would blog about but then I look outside and up in the sky and saw an airplane and that’s were I got my inspiration. My dream job is not to be an actor or an astronaut but a pilot. I know some of you hate flying and I understand but I find it pleasant and that’s one of the reasons why I want to be an airplane pilot. I could fly from continent from continent transporting people of whatever other stuff. This is my dream job but in time hopefully robots won’t be flying the planes.
ReplyDeleteGood blog I found you picked a great topic.

This week I will blog about school hours. (thanks Mr. Katz for the brilliant idea) Most people at st. Thomas complain about how we start school so early. but when you think about it 7:55 am isn't that early. If you still think that its too early then you should listen to this, If we started at 9:00 am than we would most probably finish at 4:00 pm. If you still rather start at 9:00 or something and its really that big of a deal, then you should have chose another school (but this is the best one anyway so there is no point). Also if you still really don't like the time then GO TO BED EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the funny thing. Most of the people who complain about the time, go to bed too late, so you should go to bed earlier.

Sorry I don't know what happened to the 3rd to last line but its not supposed to be messed up.

For my free topic blog, I thought I’d write about my experience to Miami this winter break. I go to Florida every year, and each year we do something extra, like a mini getaway on our vacation. This year my parents decided on Miami. I was super excited hearing this news, as I’ve never visited there before. Some of the things we did included the hop on hop off bus tour which is a double-decker bus. I’ve never been on them before and you could see so well from the top. We got off at Jungle Island. It’s like the ecomuseum, but what makes it cool is that it’s on it’s own island. We also took a small cruise around Millionaire’s Row. A bunch of celebrities homes are there and lucky for me I got to see them! We were only in Miami for two days, but on the second day it got even more fun than the first. In the morning, we headed to the Florida Everglades. It is where we get to see alligators in the swamp! I even got to touch one, but I was too scared to hold one myself. In the afternoon, we drove to the Miami Seaquarium! It was such a fun experience, and I got to see some animals that I’ve never seen before. Some included a Killer Whale (who put on an amazing show!) and also some cute dolphins who made huge splashes and got me soaked! Miami was so much fun and even though I probably won’t go again while I’m young, I’ll remember this trip for sure.

OMG! I love dolphins! You go to Florida every year! That must be so much fun. I wish I could go one day. Awesome blog Julia!

Since it's a free blog I decided to talk about my family. I love them so much even when they can get on my nerves and I get on theirs. On my moms side there's my Baka and Dido. Baka comes form Yugoslavia as does my mother. My Dido is from here. My mom doesn't have any siblings except her step-sister. I don't have any cousins on her side. On my dads side there's my Nana, Auntie Dee, Auntie Shelly, My dad, Uncle Trevor, and Uncle Greg. That's their order from youngest to oldest besides my Nana. My grand father died when my dad was seventeen so I never got to meet him. My eldest uncle has a son named Ethan (16 years old) and they both live in Vancouver. We see them about every 2 years. My youngest aunt has two kids. My oldest cousin, Ashley, is 23. Ten years older than me and my youngest cousin, Noah (the baby of the family) is 10, turning 11. Then there's me and my sister. My sister is named Shae and is 11 turning 12. And I don't really need to talk about myself so that's all on my family.

Today since it's a free blog topic, I'm going to talk about my hockey tournament in Plattsburg in a few weeks. My tournament will be 3 days which includes my team and I missing school on a friday :D. I think it's going to be so much fun. Last years team won the Plattsburg tournament so I'm hoping that we could do the same this year. I recently had my hockey tournament in Ottawa so I'm hoping that this next tournament will be even better. We're staying in an awesome hotel and we'll be playing manhunt around the hotel and disturbing everyone, probably going to get kicked out of the gym or the pool again. It's going to be awesome.

For my free blog topic, I chose to talk about my guitar. Most people don't know this, but my guitar is my biggest obsession and always will be. I started playing when I was about four and a half years old and I have loved it ever since. My first one was given to me on my fourth birthday, from my great grandfather. It kind of surprises that I have been playing it for nine years, but when I was 8 years old, I was soon asked to play for many plays, shows etc. I remember practicing all the time and became so good that people still didn't believe me about my age until I told them. Learning it was one of the best things to ever happen to me because for once, everybody's eyes were only on me and how I play my guitar. I still play the guitar to this day and I don't think I will ever stop anytime soon.

ReplyDeleteThe most fun thing I did this weekend was going to the cinema with my dad and two brother's on Saturday. We arrived at the movie the cinema about an hour before the movie started, so that gave us plenty of free time. We all went to play games, I played a car racing game, deal or no deal and "the strength game" (the one where you smash a hammer on a sensor). Ten minutes before the movie started, we went to buy our popcorn (which is always more expensive then the movie tickets themselves), drinks and candy for my brother's. Then we finally walked into the theater. We went to watch "Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb". Before I continue SPOILER ALERT!!!! The movie tells us what thing makes everything in the museum come to life, an ancient Egyptian pallet. The problem is that the pallet is running out of it's magic. Larry (Ben Stiller) and his friend's at the museum need to travel to London, England to find out how to fix the magic of the pallet to keep his friend's alive. They find out that they have to let the moonlight shine on it to gain back it's power. But, Sir Lancelot steals after he helped Larry and "the crew". In the end they got the pallet back from Sir Lancelot right before sun rise and no one would go back to being a wax figure. But then Larry's friend's realize that they like having people look at them everyday to learn new things. So they said goodbye, got into positions and turned back to wax. It was a really fun movie to watch. FOR ALL OF YOU THAT SKIPPED THE SPOILER PART YOU CAN NOW KEEP READING. After the movie, I was full of popcorn (I had a medium sized bag all to myself), but it was so good. Then when we got home and had pizza for dinner! Later, everyone went to the living room and we watched "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" while we all had ice-cream. It was a very fun Saturday.
Sorry my blog is kinda long, it was just a good movie and a lot to talk about.
DeleteVanessa
Very descriptive;Vanessa! I guess you loved the movie a lot.

After you said spoiler alert I did not read, sorry. I see from the comments how your blog was! Seems like you had an amazing Saturday from reading your last sentence.
DeleteFor this free blog I am going to write about how much I hate winter. Winter is fun for skiing and skating and fun winter activities. But it sooo cold, whenever I get into the car it takes forever to warm up. You have to wear big puffy jackets and annoying clunky boots. I can't stand it! I wish it could warm all year long and no snow. But I guess I am going to have to just live with it.

For my free topic I chose football, and as most guys know the patriots and seahawks are going to the super bowl. But apparently the patriots have been cheating and I am a big fan of them and it is scary to know what they did. Now all my friends are going for the seahawks but the patriots will win. Now this might effect the franchise and the NFL might take away the first round pick. Truly I think its colts fans that are mad that we won so they are making up perposterus things that have maybe occurred.

I had no idea on what to blog about. Then my phone buzzed it was an alert from the game Trivia Crack. I have been playing this game for quiet while now and I love it. It is where there are questions from six subjects (art, sports, history, geography, science & entertainment) and there is a wheel, which will spin and give you a topic and a question from it. You have to answer it within 30 seconds and it will give four options to choose from. You have to play against someone so if your friend’s have the game and you have their username then you can just play against him or you can click “random” and play against a stranger. I am in love with this game. Also it is FREE on the App Store. So I recommend you to try it.

I love that game!!!
DeleteOOOOOOOOOH! Good idea to blog about this topic! And I play against you!!!! Great idea again!
DeleteFor this free blog ,I'm going to talk about my favorite season. My favorite season is spring . I like spring because of a lot of things. one reason is, my b-day is in the spring. I find spring is the perfect season. The temperature is nice, everything is budding and blooming, all the snow goes away and a lot more. My second favorite season is the winter, believe it or not. I actually get really excited for the winter because of hockey. I love the outdoor rinks and playing on a team.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog I am going to talk about my favourite person in the whole wide world! Her name is Kim and supports me most and she always listens and offers advice. She is more of a mom to me because I can tell her anything and she always helps me get through things and always helps with my brother who drives everyone insane!! I love my mom but we fight a lot and I have never been in an argument with Kim and we never will be. I hope I never loose Kim in my life and when that day comes I will be so sad I probably won’t be able to function. I love Kim as if she was my mom/sister! <3

For this blog I will talk about my new skis. It all started on Christmas when I received the skis from my grandpa, I was so happy because they were twin tips, which I had asked for. For those of you who don’t know what twin tip skis are, they are skis that curve up on both ends so you can go backwards and do tricks. About a week later I went to Moren-heights to try them out for the first time. They took some time to get used to but they were amazing! I went on the snow park a bunch of times and had so much fun. In the end without my grandpa life would be much worse.

For my blog I will talk about my time I went skiing with my brother when we go to the mountain it was packed. There was people everywhere. I went skiing before but my brother was just a beginner so we got on the chairlift after half an hour of waiting in line. When we finally got to the top of the mountain I got off the chair lift noticing I forgot my brother he was to scared to jump and stayed on the chair lift instead of getting off then he finally got off the chair lift. We were going down some easy trails until my brother accidently gone in the double black diamond trail witch is for experts but he actually made it down okay and also before me that was very eventful ski trip. It was my brothers first time skiing and did the double black diamonds and came down fine.

For this blog, I would like to talk about my country, Sri Lanka. This country is where my parents, grandparents and all generations before were born. There they speak two languages, Tamil and Sinhalese. My family and I speak Tamil. For a few years there was a war against both cultures. Since Tamil is a minority, I believe the Sinhalese wanted to be more powerful, and so war came along, the Sri Lankan civil war. That is when most Tamils wanted to move abroad and succeeded in doing so. They left family and friends behind to survive. However, many could not and the lucky few are still alive today. The rest lost everything they had and still suffer today. Many children became orphans, homes were destroyed and yet they fought. However, in the end they lost and the war ended.Temples were bombed and many innocent lives were lost. There was once a huge library where there were 97,000 books and manuscripts, English, Tamil, and Sinhalese. One day a mob set the place on fire, four lives were lost and many books too. After a few years most were replaced however, the old ones were lost. In the following years, Black July occurred. Black July is from the 24th to the 30th of July. On those days many riots took place and many were attacked. Some Tamils had stores and businesses in the Sinhala area. The Sinhalese attacked and rioted to send away all of those people. There were attacks, so there were many deaths. The torture was unbearable and so the Tamil Tigers were founded. It was almost like an army they had their own court and police. They were the government for the Tamils. All they ever wanted was a land for themselves and equality. My family has never lost a member because of this war. In conclusion, I am proud to say that I am a Tamil.
