I highly recommend that you go OUTSIDE the BOX! Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents.
I’ve decided to blog about what I did this week, my grandma ( Nonna in Italian) slept over and made food!! The first thing we made was an Italian cookie called “taralli’s”, they are so delicious and it’s like bread but it’s cooked and it’s in a cookie form. The next day we got up early and we made an Italian pasta called “cavatelli”, it was so delicious and I wish I can have it everyday but I cant And that night my grandma left to go back home and then it was time for school again
ReplyDeleteI love taralli! My nonna always makes those! That sounds like a really fun weekend!

Lucky!!!! I love pasta I can literally eat it every day. I wish my grandma would make me pasta and cookies
DeleteWoah! Sound good, I have to try that one day....
DeleteDing! A new text! I was thrilled to receive my phone this weekend! I love it more than anything. Yellow, pink, this is probably my favourite gift ever received. It gave me a huge reason to smile this weekend! I downloaded so many fun apps on my phone and I can't wait to learn tricks to using my iPhone. Naturally I decided to go with the 5c seeing as it would be a great opportunity to carry my favourite colours along with me, whenever, wherever! I'm truly thankful!!!

To be honest, one of my favourite things about your blogs are you topic sentences! They are the best hooks EVER! I just love how your blogs are so creative, especially (like I said before) your topic sentences. I just, I can't explain how amused I am about your blogs (don't take it the bad way, I mean no harm, all I'm trying to point of is that your blogs, AWESOME). By reading your blog, I can tell that you put so much effort in it and everything you said was from the bottom of your heart. I can see that you truly are thankful even without having to read your last sentence! By the way, I'm not just saying this but, drum role please. Fabulous job and I loved your blog, spot on for something short but SWEET! Like S-U-P-E-R sweet, like umm, CHOCOLATE!
DeleteGiuliana I love your blog. I have the same type of phone as you. I have a yellow iPhone 5c

Today I was watching a show, and they got stuck on a deserted island. So it gave me an idea to talk about 3 items I would bring if I got stuck on an island. The first thing I would bring would be a lifetime of sweets. Even though it sucks that I’m stranded on an island, there’s no one to tell me that I have to stop eating candy! My second item would be a hammock. Since I’m stuck on an island I would make use of the palm trees. Seriously, there’s no use of palm trees if there’s no one to relax on them. My last item would be my IPad. It would keep me busy while I’m relaxing on my hammock and eating sweets. I know these things are a bit useless for escaping the island, but I’m not that good of a swimmer and a phone wouldn’t have bars. So I would just like to spend the rest of my life relaxing instead of being stressed.
ReplyDeleteI love sweets so much too. For me that would have to be something to bring with me. The only bad part is there not good for you. Also if I could relax I would also bring a hammock but I would be to stressed to be relaxed. Great Blog Capria! It's a great topic.
DeleteIMAGINE THIS! You are stuck in the middle of traffic, with a storm and flood! What would you do?! Now, here's the interesting part.... I have kind of been in this situation! Surprising or have you always thought of me as bad luck? Okie dokie, anyway. Here's where I tell the audience my story. It was a bright morning and everything was awesome, when all of a sudden! We left, and that's where everything turned upside down.... It was around three p.m. and my aunt was driving and just doing or driving the usual routine. That's when everything became dark, rain started pouring and water started flooding!!!! Traffic lights were damaged, all the houses were dark and we all huddled together. HOWEVER, we weren't that scared. We knew and believed that our aunt would get us through this.... Also, I kind of forgot to mention, that a power outage happened if that couldn't of've been more obvious. She drove and drove and drove but that's when we saw the creepiest thing ever! Several people and children were outside taking PICTURES of what was happening! Will you answer this question? Are you daring enough? Well, I guess you are, since you've already read this far! Would you be like those people? Standing outside and just snapping away on your phones? I wouldn't but everyone is different! Now I know, my structure isn't that good. So, I'll make it worse by adding this little detail. It all started in the mall! Power outage happened and everybody went in panic mode! Screaming for your family and children, boy was it freaky! People were lining up to go down the escalator however the elevator even broke! All I have to say is that it was very hectic in there! Back to the middle of the story. Where was I? Oh yeah! By the time we got near our house, it was eight p.m. but we also stopped for a potty brake and dinner since we spent five hours cooped up in a car! FIVE HOURS! Like, well, yeah whatever. SO, would you have been scared and ran for your life or would you be ummm, calm? Just think about it, what if this happened in the mall farthest from your house? Just pointing out that, it was a horrible yet great experience! ‘Cause well, bonding time with your family!
ReplyDeleteEmily, you might not notice it but you have very good topic sentences too!
DeleteSophie Dillon
That sounds like an amazing experience. If that was me I would probably FREAK out, I am terrified of the dark and I wouldn't know what to do It was probably scary at the time but you probably look back at it and laugh with your family. I really enjoyed your blog, your writing is soo good;)
DeleteOn my blog I will write about my rant on Christmas decorations BEFORE Halloween. This topic has been bothering me for a long time but this year was the worst. I love Christmas and all but it reminds me of snow, and I shouldn't be thinking of snow in the beginning of October. A few weekends ago when I was going to Costco with my parents, I saw Christmas tree's and decorations. Halloween didn't even pass yet and they were already selling Christmas decorations. Why can't we just finish one holiday before jumping to another one? I hope someone agrees with me.
ReplyDeleteI know that is totally strange. I was with my mom at Deco Decouvert last week-end(I think) and I saw these boxes with Christmas ornament and these little white Christmas tree and I was like "Wow!There is a complete 2-3 months till Christmas and there are already Christmas decoration. Like Halloween did not even pass."
DeleteI love seeing Christmas decorations but I agree with you! Stores should stick to one Holiday before the other!
DeleteMy blog will be about how I wish I could get a dog. I used to have a dog, but he died last April. I miss him so much. If I could choose any dog to get it would be a Morkie (a mix of a Maltese and a Yorkshire Terrier). They are so small and cute! My old dog was a Bernese Mountain dog and they are pretty big. I would like to have a small dog this time because I think they are easier to take care of. I love having a dog in my family because it is just so much fun. My parents say that we would probably get a dog sometime next summer. I really hope we do!
ReplyDelete-Erin
I know how you feel, my dog died a few years ago and i miss him so much. I've wanted another dog since. Morkie's are the cutest dogs ever, my friend has one and i'm super jealous. Amazing blog by the way:)
DeleteI know the feeling of loosing a pet. It's so hard. I never had a dog but I do have (and had) hamsters. You get so attached to your pet no matter how big or small and no amount of time is enough with your pet! Great blog!!!
DeleteFor this blog, I'm going talk about my biggest pet peeve. My biggest pet peeve is when your getting food at a drive-thru or something with your friend, you would ask them if they wanted anything because that's what a good friend does. Most friends would say no because they don't want to waste your parents money. Although some friends might say yes. Anyway you would ask them and they say no,BUT as soon as you get your food, they just want to dive thinking it's some kind buffet or pot-luck. I asked you two minutes ago do you want anything and you said no, now your eating my dam food you fat guy. I hate it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteWhen ever i am making dinner or a snack or something and ask if anyone wants what i am making, or at a drive through like you my grandma always sais no but after a while she yes when we have already left. Once we were at McDonalds and i asked her if she wanted an icecream she said no. But after she said she wanted only a cone, not an icecream. :D
DeleteSophie Dillon
Guess what I do that at times. Like the other day my sister went to Starbucks and she was like do you want anything and I said no but then after seeing what she had it made me hungry(you could say) and I ended up drinking literally all her drink. It is just after you see it, it is too good to resist and it is too hard too resist.
Delete-Madurra.S
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! WOW!! Well that was no very nice to whoever you called a fat guy, however, funny too. The important thing is that your pet peeve makes sense and yours does.
DeleteIn my blog I would like to talk about robots. These days, there are not very much robots in are everyday life’s but we know that there are more and more every day. What I want to know is what would happen to humans if robots took are jobs. A robot can do almost any job if you think about it so what would people do whit their lives. Because they will have no way of making money. If you think of horses, they usto be the best way of transportation but ever since car were invented we almost never use them. Robots are amazing things to use but will they ever replace humans?

In my blog I will be talking about hockey. Hockey is my favourite sport .I've been skating since I was 3 or 4 and been playing hockey since I was 5. Last year I was playing the highest level I've ever played. Then this year I'm not sure why but they put me in lower level. when I herd the news I was in complete shock because it was my coaches last year were the ones who put me in the lower level. They were also my favourite coaches.

ReplyDeletefor this weeks blog I am going to talk abut my dog! We got my dog on the 15th of september she was very small and very squirmy. She cried for hours on the way home while she was in her crate but when we took her out of her crate she stopped! We were not very prepared to get a dog! My dogs name is Willow she loves cuddles and she is a girl in case you havent realised. She likes people and she loves jumping onto other dogs. Her favorite toy is a snake that she pulls on one end and I pull the other. My dog loves me and I love my dog more than a million skies! :)

For this blog i will talk about my dog. She is a soft coded weatin terrier. She was born on September 9th 2004. My dog loves to go on long walks. We have a golf course near our house and she loves to go there when it is winter of fall so the golf season is over. I love it when she sleeps with me, but it doesn't happen very often. She usually sleeps with my parents. Its kind of funny because what she does is she sleeps with me about five days in a row and then waits about 2 months and does it again. My dog is currently 10 years old. When i first got my dog i was afraid of her. she would come up to me and then i would run away, but i was only 2 years old. When my dog was a puppy she was brown with a black nose, and around her nose was black also. Now she is white with a black nose and black around her nose. Her breed of dog when they are puppies they are brown and when they are older they are white. I love my dog so much. She is very unique.

For this blog, i'm going to talk about hockey. I've been playing hockey since I was five. In my first two years in hockey, I didn't like it at all, then I stopped. Then later in the year where I wasn't playing hockey, I started liking it again and played the year after. My parents told me I was going to be in C, I wasn't upset because it made sense and from all the doubt, I made B. To this day, hockey is my favorite sport and game to play, I'm currently in Peewee A for Lakeshore as a forward in rotation between defense

That is really good! I am horrible at sports!
DeleteIn this blog I will be talking to you about a SUPERPOWER I always wished to have. This would be to freeze time. Time is precious, time passes by quick and time is everything. Why I would choose this is, number one I am a huge procrastinator. Whenever I get a project or test to study for I will keep it till the very last minute possible and I will end up staying up until 12:00pm and studying then waking up early the next morning and studying. Also time flies I usually make an estimated time how long this assignment will take me and make up a schedule to see when I should do what to fit in all my homework. In the end I take triple the amount of time needed to finish this one assignment and I will end up rushing through all my other homework. That is why I would like to be able to freeze time. Just imagine this you will be in class and you have a strict teacher and you just recognized you left your homework in your locker, if you ask him he will give detention so there you can freeze the time go to your locker get your assignment then come back unfreeze the time and give it to him. That is a power I always wished to have. You got to admit it will be pretty awesome if you could freeze time. Wouldn't?
ReplyDeleteCool topic!
DeleteThat is very smart of you! You are right time is precious and it would be amazing if you were able to do such things. You could even go back to important moments of your life if you want to, and nobody will notice!!!!
DeleteMy blog is going to be about a Tae Kwon Do seminar I attended. It was held on November 4th 2014 (also yesterday). Tae Kwon Do is a type of martial arts which teaches you discipline and how to defend yourself. It’s called a seminar because the Grand Master Chong Lee of all the schools came and gave us a lesson. He has his 9th dan. He is the only person who has a 9th dan and his master has 10 dan. It was a lot of fun. We learned new strategies about when we fight. The only part that I didn’t enjoy was the stretching because it was painful. For example I had to lie on the floor as a star on my stomach and then touch my foot to my opposite arm. When I wasn’t in pain I was practicing the routines he was telling us how to do. After a while I was so thirsty because we didn’t get as many water breaks as we usually do. In my opinion Tae Kwon Do is an amazing sport to get in shape and teaches you discipline.
ReplyDeleteI decided to talk to you guys about riding! I'm sure that some of you will tune out after I said riding but hear me out. I've been riding since I was 9 years old and it has really become a huge part of my life. I honestly have no idea where this came from but I just got this feeling and it was telling me "find something fun to do". My friend had asked me if I wanted to try a lesson with her and from the moment I sat in the saddle, I was hooked! I have really developed a talent and everyone is trying to get me to compete but I don't feel ready and I really don't feel like I can handle all the pressure that comes with showing. I have been doing lessons once a week on Sundays with my awesome coach, Kira. I have really developed a strong bond with many of the horses but the sad part is, when they get older, they retire and I am no longer able to see them. I have even considered leasing (partially owning) a horse named Henry (Oh Henry) but unfortunately someone is already leasing him. Henry is a dark-bay thoroughbred. He was in fact a racehorse but he was retired after he lost a couple of races. He is a sweetheart and he warms my heart. I feel like I want to melt every time he hugs me!!!

ReplyDeleteSince I already talked about my parents in a previous blog I will now talk about the rest of my family. My family is one of the things that makes me happy. My family is funny, cool, fun, talkative, awesome, amazing and so on. First we have my nonno and nonna (grandpa and grandma in Italian), they are so funny, plus it's always fun to play a little game of Briscola or Cinquecento (Italian card games) with them. Next we have aunt, Rosa, I always have fun with her, I always love to go shopping with her at Fairview. Now we have my uncle, Jack, and my cousins, Jessica and Daniel, even though my cousins are like ten years older than me we still always have fun together, usually whenever we see each other we're at my grandma's house, so most of the time we play some board games or with the Wii in the basement. Last but not least we have my little brothers, Marco and Pietro, they're fraternal twins, but some people can't tell them apart and I don't understand why. Anyways, my brothers can be very annoying and loud when I do my work, but when we're not busy we like to play soccer or fireball in the backyard, if we don't go outside we either play Heads Up (Ellen DeGeneres' app) or a video game on the Xbox. So are some things I like to do with my family, I love them.
I decided to make this blog about my HUGE obsession with Allegro. Allegro is a 15.3hh (hands high), chestnut, warm blood mare. She is the biggest part of my life! The first time I rode her she was crazy but that’s what made me fall in love with her! My mom always says that I fall in love with the underdog horse. You’d understand why is you knew the pony I used to ride. She was INSANE! Maybe even more then Allegro. Enough the old pony this all about Allegro. I only started riding her since last September, so it’s been a little bit more than a year. Over the summer we accomplished so much! More than anyone thought we would. I completely retrained her, jumped her first vertical in over 8 years, took her to her first show and sooooooo much more! This summer I have big plans for use! I hope to take her to her first shows off the barns property. Cross our fingers she doesn’t have a heart attack! On my birthday (October 24th) we had a lesson together and during the whole year that ive ridden her she hasn’t been that calm! I thought someone switched her! I hope we keep on growing and getting closer and closer.

For this blog I will be talking about the day I got my phone . It was a day I could never forget and my brother especially. My parents and I went to Fairview into the bell store and looked for a phone so we asked someone and then he said I like Samsung and my mom was like no. So we looked around a little and I thought I am going to ask for the 5c because it is cheaper. But my mom really liked the 5s . So we went to the helpers and my parents talked to them and so I ended up getting the 5s so I was so happy. When my brother heard that we came home I told him that I got the 5c and he was like ha you didn't get 5s and I told him I did and he ended up not talking to me for 5 hours. I am spoiled to get the 5s but my brother is way more spoiled and he just doesn't realize it

The day I got my phone was one of the happiest days of my life. It was my twelfth birthday and I was being bombarded with phone calls and candy. After all my birthday is on Valentine's day. So my family, some family friends and I ate super and hung out. Then it was time for the presents. First I got some art supplies and then a craft to make bracelets(I like to make things and do art). Then my dad came up to me with a really small bag and a huge grin on his face. He said he didn't want me to open it until he got his phone. I waited with the anticipation building up in me. Finally I got to open the present and it was my Galaxy S4! I was so ecstatic but maybe not as ecstatic as I should have been. The truth is that while I was talking on the house phone with one family members I walked into a room with the small baggie and I peeked inside to see a case for the galaxy. It turns out that it was mine. I waited for it to be activated and my dad said he'd do it in June. June came and went, then July and August. Finally after the first week of school I got my phone activated and now I us it all the time.

So I’ve decided to blog about my upcoming events! In about 3 weeks, we have a 4 day weekend. I have cousins that live in Toronto and we only see each other for special occasions. I decided that we should start seeing each other more frequently. I miss them because we always have a blast when were together and when we do see each other, it’s only for a small matter of time. Since we live 6 hours away from each other, we can’t meet as often as I hoped we could have. With the 4 day weekend coming up, I said to my parents and asked if it would be a good time to go. My parents said yes, so all I was counting on was for my Aunt and Uncle to say yes as well! Because they know that we don’t have much time to see each other, they said yes! I’m so happy because both mine and my one of my cousin’s birthday is in November. We thought it would be cool to kind of celebrate them together, even though her’s was today, and mine is in 2 weeks. I’m a year older though, so we’re always going to have that 13 days as the same age. I love my cousin’s and I’m looking forward to seeing them soon!

For this blog, I will be talking about my family because they are literally the most important people in my life. Even though we live miles apart, they always visit( even though they are not always invited) and they treat me like I'm the princess of the house. The closest person to me right now is my uncle because he is only 13 years older than me and I occasionally stop by to see him because he is the coolest guy ever. My grandma came to see me and cooks the best dishes. She even takes my side or screams at my mom when she yells at me. I am really close to mostly everyone on my parent's family whether it's there cousins, sisters, second cousins etc. I'm also really close to my cousin Maya, who is half French and half Indian, and she has basically raised me with everything I need to know to live my life. I really love my family and I hope to see them more often than I usually get too.

I will be blogging about my best day ever my best day ever was when I was twelve and my aunt and uncle were looking after me for the weekend. Fist we went glow in the dark mini putting it was so fun. Then we had Mc Donald were they messed up my order but I didn't really mind. After lunch we all went to buy me a new videogame for my birthday then my brother and I were playing on it non stop .At the end of the day we went to go see the first showing ever of guardians of the galaxy the movie was amazing. then when the movie was over we went to my cousins house I was excited because I barely get to see my cousin. Then when we finally got home it was almost mid night. The next morning we were all tired because all four of us did not get any sleep . That was the story of my best day ever.

Today I went to the Lamborghini show house. We were just going to drive by and look through the window but the owner let us come and look even though it was closed. They had pretty much every type of Lamborghini you could think of, but they also had some other that they traded some of their Lamborghinis for, like Ferraris, Aston Martins and McLarens. All of the car were so luxury ranging in price from $200,000 up top almost $700,000, it made me so nervous because I didn’t want to mess anything up. After the owner showed us his other cars that were in the basement which were apparently not nice enough for show even though they were super nice. It was so nice of him to let us in even though it was closed.

DeleteIn this blog, since there is no topic, I'm going to talk about something I love, my dogs. I have 2 dogs Lola & Jimmy. They are both unknown mixes.I have had Lola for about 7-8 years, She is about 9-10 years old today, but acts like she is 3 so that's a good sign. I have had Jimmy only since April this year. Lola is a very athletic and smart dog. Her body is blonde, white paws, and light brown ears. Lola knows a lot of tricks(sit, down, spin, rollover, paw, other paw, high five) I taught all these tricks to her, she picks them up really fast. On the other hand Jimmy isn't the most athletic or smart. He only knows "sit" and sometimes "down". Jimmy is blind in his left eye he is about 5-7 years old. He is light brown with dark brown ears. They get along good together.
ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I will talk about "My Little Pony." My Little Pony is my favorite TV show and I am a brony/pegasister. If you do not already know, a brony is a person who is a follower of My Little Pony, and so is a pegasister. A brony is mostly a male, and a pegasister is mostly a female. For those of you who think: " Oh gosh! My Little Pony is for babies! (ugh)," I will tell you the truth, and it is not. Did you know that on YouTube there are so many people who are (99.9% of the time, over 10 years of age) bronies and pegasisters who make videos about this show and debate about it. I love the show for the story and the art. There is so much beautiful fan art (art by fans) on Google and it is amazing how much talent people have! There are so many amazing head canons (stories created by people, taking info given in the series) and they make fantastic bedtime stories. I am so interested in My Little Pony and so are 5 more of my friends (including Madurra) that we (all 6 of us) gave each other a pony name and we still continue to spread the bronyness. For the ponies: I am Rarity ( the one on my profile picture for blogging), Madu is Fluttershy, and the rest of my friends are Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle , Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. My friend (Pinkie Pie) has all the songs almost memorized and almost all the lines memorized! If you want to see an episode, I suggest the most recent one is "Twilight's Kingdom". If you want to see an epic head canon, you should see on YouTube, "Celestia, Luna, and the history of Equestria" by ink rose. I am so excited for the season five release in 2015! I can not take the suspense any more! I encourage you to just watch the head canon, just the episode I suggested or both. However, do it! In conclusion, are their any bronies in the class?
